We’re settling in to our new home near Fredericton and loving the family-friendly feel of this small and beautiful city. If you’re near Fredericton, New Brunswick this holiday season, here are a few of our new home’s kid-appropriate Christmas events for 2013!
Christmas Tree Lighting in Downtown Fredericton. This one’s a 2 for 1 deal: it starts with the lighting of the tree at the Provincial Legislature at 7pm & then there’s a parade – with Santa – to City Hall where the second tree is lit.
Nutcracker Tea at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. My daughter and I are looking forward to this one: there are cookies, tea, cider, dancers, music, and crafts for the little ones!
Tree Lighting in Fredericton Junction, New Brunswick. Yes, I know that Fredericton Junction is a whole different place, but it’s nearby and this one sounds awesome: there’s all sorts of delicious food AND a visit from Santa!
The Nutcracker ballet. I just won tickets to this, courtesy of Fredericton Tourism’s 10 Days of Giveaways (going until December 6)! I’m looking forward to sharing my review with you, but in the meantime, check out the Fredericton Tourism Facebook page for your chance to win cool stuff.
December 19 – 22
Christmas @theplayhouse. This is a holiday tradition in Fredericton – I haven’t seen it yet (and won’t get to this year), so maybe one of my readers can report back and let me know how you like it!
