If you haven’t been to Magnolia’s Grill in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia yet (or at all), I’d suggest now is a good time. Not only is it a consistently great restaurant, but on my visit last week they had lobster rolls. Delicious, delicious, lobster rolls. The salty smell in the air. Waves crashing on the shore. Seagulls.
But the Maritimes are also about long drives. With family scattered throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, a 5-hour drive is no biggie for us. Which is why it came as a bit of a surprise to remember this weekend that we could go down the Valley (the Annapolis Valley, that is) to visit family and then just take the Princess of Acadia ferry home to Saint John from Digby.
Every year I grow mint, just so that I can make mojitos. I love a good mojito, and have strong opinions on the subject of how they should be made: for example, if there’s fruit in there other than lime? Not a mojito. Continue reading
Serendipity lead me to Relish Gourmet Burgers today. A few weeks ago, I’d retweeted their announcement about a Tweetup Relish was holding in Saint John. I couldn’t attend, but the folks at Relish kindly sent a $20 gift card my way anyway.
Families with infants or toddlers, take note: the reason it took me so long to get to Relish Saint John is because they don’t have high chairs or booster seats. Walking in the door, however, I instantly realized why. Continue reading
